The Sèvres archive (Vj'34, pp. 20-21, 94-94) records Develly as working on the painting between 9 June and 13 December 1827 and Durosey on the gilding between 18 June and 21 December 1827. The cup and saucer entered the Magasin de Vente on 22 December 1827, listed with a production cost to the factory of 214 francs and a selling price of 250 francs (fig.1).
