    A Shibayama decorated Case by Komai, Meiji Period (1868-1912)
    hexagonal and in the form of a Japanese lantern, each side in ivory decorated with coral, tortoise-shell, aogai and stained ivory inlay, depicting flowers and birds between carved panels of turbulent waves and dragons in flight within silver frames and kanagu, nashiji lacquer interior, the hinged cover worked in silver and gilt nunomezogan on an ishime ground with roundels of phoenix and dragons, the raised foot with leafy sprays, signed with the Komai Mount Fuji mark -- 8½in. (21.5cm.) high
