A SILK HEREKE RUG WEST ANATOLIA, CIRCA 1900 The ivory field arranged with a counterposed design of bold flowering palmettes issuing delicate floral sprays linking palmettes and scattered animal figures, in a raspberry-red palmette and leafy scrolling vine border with perching birds between charcoal-black and lilac floral meander stripes, minor areas of localised wear, light colour-run at both ends in the border, both kilims with crude restitching, selvages replaced 6ft. x 4ft.2in. (183cm. x 127cm.)
