A SILVER-GILT LITURGICAL CROSS
RUSSIAN, ST. PETERSBURG, 1828, MAKER'S MARK F.A. IN CYRILLIC
The Crucifix above the bones of Adam is represented in the centre against the walled city of Jerusalem, flanked by the Mother of God and John the Evangelist. On the top, the Lord Sabaoth emerges from the clouds, with the Holy Spirit immediately below. The symbols of the Passion are portrayed on the handle of the cross. The silver cross is gilded on the obverse.
