    Mei: Gassan Hiroyasu, mid 16th Century, lacquer mounts signed Tosen and Kao
    The blade hirazukuri, iorimune, with tapering muzori, forged with prominent Gassan ayasugi hada, tempered edge yakinaoshi (retempered), suguha hotsure of ko-nie, pointed kaeri boshi, tang slightly suriage, 20cm.; encased in a roironuri saya and tsuka decorated in gold hiramakie with wisteria, ishime-ji silver fuchi-kashira, kojiri and a koiguchi with ring kurikata formed as melting snow, silver kiku mekugi, (slight wear to the scabbard), 19th Century
