decorated on the exterior in underglaze blue with figures and houses amongst rockwork and trees with boats and mountainous landscape in the distance, the interior well with a similar scene and a four character underglaze blue mark within a double circle to the base reading Zao Gu Ya Zhi, 'Made in the graceful, classical style' -- 6 1/4in. (15.9cm.) diam.
