SOUTHERN SONG DYNASTY (1127-1279)
The bowl is carved on the exterior with overlapping petals which radiate from the base and is covered allover in a pale olive-celadon glaze suffused with a network of cream-colored crackle. The foot rim is left unglazed.

Lot Essay

A Longquan celadon bowl and cover carved with fluted petals and covered in a similar crackled glaze is illustrated in The Complete Collection of Treasures of the Palace Museum - 33 - Porcelain of the Song Dynasty (II), Hong Kong, 1996, p. 155, no. 140.
