A SOUTH CAUCASIAN RUNNER DATED AH 1282/1865 AD The indigo field scattered with minor geometric motifs, octagons and angular animals around a central column of eight lozenge medallions filled with angular flowerheads and floral sprays with two octagonal medallions at each end filled with hooked centrepieces scattered with minor geometric motifs, in an ivory hooked geometric polychrome motif border between reciprocal skittle-pattern stripes and narrow polychrome flowerhead minor stripes, a date cartouche in one of the octagonal medallions, light even wear, natural corrosion in the brown, both ends rewoven in part of the outer stripe 14ft. x 3ft.5in. (427cm. x 104cm.)
