A spill vase group of a girl with a Newfoundland
the young girl modelled sleeping on a grassy mound with the hound seated on its haunches by her side, the spill moulded as a tree stump with trailing ivy and applied grassy tufts, well coloured, on a shaped gilt-line base, mid 19th century (some restoration and replacement) -- 21cm. high; a group of a girl with a spaniel, the girl modelled standing holding a posy in her right hand, her left arm around the spaniel seated on its haunches by her side, on shaped gilt-line mound base, circa 1845 (some overpainting to the black enamel and typical crazing to the glaze); and a pair of models of spaniels, typically modelled seated on their haunches to the left and right, enriched with gilt, with glass eyes, circa 1890 (very minor rubbing to gilding) -- 28cm. high
