A SPINACH-GREEN JADE VASE, GU
QIANLONG PERIOD (1736-1795)

Of slender lobed form, carved around the exterior in medium and shallow relief with three registers of decoration, the spreading base and trumpet neck with elegant overlapping plantain leaves and scrolling vines, the mid-section with further panels of stylised flowerheads, each section divided by four raised ingot-shaped vertical flanges, the dark green semi-translucent stone with areas of characteristic slightly darker and paler spinach-green mottling
