See Oliver, p. 39 and 40, fig. 45; and Sharp, p. 241. This group is based on the gory fate that befell Lieutenant Hector Monroe in India on the 2nd of December, 1792. One account states that while attending a picnic and 'having occasion to retire into the surrounding undergrowth for a necessary moment, he was pounced on by a tiger while his attention and natural caution were diverted.' Another version published in 1807 has him attacked while shooting a deer.
