Several features of this commode exist on the documented oeuvre of Georg Haupt, such as the mounts to the top of the angles and the angle of the legs which are shared with a commode sold anonymously in these Rooms, 8 December 1994, lot 570. Further, the distinct tablet side panels are recorded on the two celebrated secrétaires à abattant illustrated in M. Lagerquist, Georg Haupt Ebéniste du Roi, Stockholm, 1979, p. 142, cat. 27 and p. 144, cat. 28, the latter of which was also sold anonymously in these Rooms, 8 December 1994, lot 576. Finally, the foliate scrolling mount to the apron can be seen on the pull-out bed concealed within a commode, delivered to Gustaf III prior to 1792 and now at Drottningsholm Castle, Sweden (M. Lagerquist, op. cit., p. 80).
