circular box, the independent cover and base enamelled, the base in translucent blue on an engine-turned spiralling coin-pattern ground bordered by bands of opaque peppermint green and white enamel, the sides enamelled in translucent blue on a wavy engine-turned ground, the lid painted in the centre with a landscape with mountains and figures by a river, on a sunburst guilloché ground, surrounded by bands of gold, opaque blue enamel, peppermint-green and white, the sides decorated with scrolling foliage within white enamel bands
