Geneva, circa 1800, later struck with two Parisian post-1838 restricted warranty marks for gold
Flacon-shaped slightly tapering flat gold perfume flask of octagonal section, front and rear sides enamelled with a flowerspray on a U-shaped translucent blue enamelled guilloché reserve above an arched orange enamelled cartouche painted in sepia with classical statues of ladies, the lower enamel panel of the front side opening with the help of a pushpiece concealed at the left-hand side to reveal a void secret compartment, multi-colour enamelled and finely decorated sides, neck and cap, the cap unscrewing to reveal a cork stopper with gold cap and suspension ring, blank gold base
