flattened rectangular box, the cover engraved and enamelled with a lady on horseback with a falcon and male figures at her side, black enamel taille d'épargne corners, the base centred with flowers in an engine-turned cartouche with gold and enamel c-scroll borders, the corners with flowers and fruit, the side panels decorated as book spines, slightly raised thumbpiece
