circular box, the cover, sides and base enamelled and painted in lilac with gold paillons bordered by a lilac band with trailing foliage in gold paillons and opaque white, set within opaque white enamel margins, the lid centred with an octagonal enamel miniature depicting a scène champêtre with lovers meeting, set within a split-pearl border
