A THREE-CASE STONEWARE INRO, NETSUKE AND OJIME
edo-meiji periods (late 19th century), inscribed kenzan
Slender and rectangular, decorated with open fans painted with flowers, trees, cranes and waves in enamels of black, blue, green, red and yellow, one closed fan of yellow enamel and one rectangular cartouche bearing the signature Kenzan, the backgrounds of the fan panels covered with a transparent glaze with dense crackle and pink tinges and the surrounding background glazed black, the interior cases unglazed; the manju netsuke also stoneware decorated en suite with a fan of Mount Fuji, bamboo and fretwork, and the bead-form ojime with smaller decorative fans, both also bearing the signature Kenzan
