A two-case inro
19th Century
decorated in gold hiramakie and lac-de-bergaute on a fundame ground, with shells and stylised flowerheads and trailing fern sprays, the sides decorated with a geometric pattern, ivory netsuke of Hotei, the seated figure holds a shell in one hand, the inro -- 3 1/8in. (7.9cm.) wide, (losses to decoration, the netsuke with age cracks).
