A VICTORIAN BRASS-MOUNTED EBONISED VANITY CASE Maker's marks Abraham Brownett, and Jane Brownett, for Harris & Brownett, 1866-67, retailed by Jenner & Knewstub, 33 St James St, London. The rectangular box with front drawer and hinged cover opening to reveal green velvet lined interior, the lid fitted with concealed mirror (hand mirror missing), and containing a removable tray of various silver gilt mounted bottles, and a horse-shoe shaped clock maker's mark TWD, above a second tray containing button hooks, folding mirror, corkscrews, thermometer, penknife, medicine spoon, vinaigrette, manicure set, etc, the lower drawer also with velvet lining. 15in (38cm) wide x 9in. (23cm) high x 11in (28cm) deep
