The case of architectural form with a foliate handle to the bell top and with pierced foliate soundfrets and vase finials, the sides with similar pierced soundfrets between canted pilaster angles above a moulded plinth and on brass ball feet, the foliate engraved dial inscribed Fenton/London on a silvered circular plaque beneath the silvered chapter ring with Roman chapters, with pierced blued steel hands and cherub spandrels, the matted centre with a rolling moonphase and a silvered date aperture and ringed winding-holes, the movement with spring supsension and outside countwheel strike on a gong
