painted with a vignette of two exotic birds in a wooded landscape beside a tree, the border with three vignettes of a bird perched in branches and moulded branches of vine, beneath gilt dentil rim, blue interlaced L marks enclosing date letter d for 1756, painter's blue cross mark for Philippe Xhrouuet (some light surface scratches and minor rubbing to gilding) -- 26cm. diam.
