Modelled with two putti kissing and embracing, their bodies reclining in opposite directions on rich drapery, on a moulded rectangular plinth with concave sides (minor chipping to feet and edge of base, minute chip to drapery, small firing crack and sanding to one putti's head, glaze-covered chip to one foot), on a verde antico marble rectangular plinth

For a similar group see Tamara Préaud and Antoine d'Albis, La Porcelaine de Vincennes (Paris, 1991), pp. 124-125, no. 47, where they point out that this group was originally known as Enfants se Mordant. The sales record shows examples of groups of this name sold at 12 livres each, with rejects sold at 2 livres each.

This group is modelled in manner of the sculptor François Duquesnoy (1597-1643).
