A WALNUT LONGCASE CLOCK

The movement striking on a single bell, with brass dial and silvered chapter-ring inscribed Philip Dickinson, Up Holland, with Roman hour numerals and Arabic minute band, centred by a seconds dial and a date aperture, flanked by pierced scrolling spandrels centred by portrait masks, the pierced arch cast with two putti blowing horns within foliate scrolls and joined by a basket issuing flowers, enclosed by a glazed moulded arched door, two shaped reverse-painted glass panels above, the moulded stepped cornice surmounted by a stepped caddy-top pediment with three turned finials, the trunk fitted with a shaped moulded arched line inlaid door flanked by demi-columns, the line inlaid box base with canted corners, on moulded plinth and arched ogee bracket feet, 18th Century and later
