A WHITE AND RUSSET JADE SNUFF BOTTLE
One side of the rounded rectangular bottle is flat and more highly polished to highlight the mottling of the russet skin, which continues onto the adjacent, slightly concave, narrow side. The foot ring is of D-shape to correspond to the shape of the bottle. One shoulder is carved with a bat grasping a vapor-trailing sprig of lingzhi in its mouth.
2½ in. (6.3 cm.) high, garnet-colored glass and silver stopper
Lizzadro Collection, Chicago, Illinois, acquired prior to 1960.
