Unsigned (Perhaps Nagoya or Gifu), Edo Period (Late 18th/Early 19th Century)
Katabori, stained boxwood; a boldly carved model of a striped tree frog crouching with its legs held close to its body and its head held upwards, the skin deeply carved and stained, the eyes inlaid in ebony, the himotoshi formed by two small holes between the front flippers
