with small concave base and high rounded shoulder tapering to a short neck, painted in deep red and black over a worn and burnished cream slip, decorated with a series of four large-scale birds, each with upswept wings and a checkered panel on its breast, alternating with curving foliate elements, banded orange underbody, inscribed XZ-72-P, S-4, and 1948.556
