Lot Essay

Troppau is the capital of the Austrian duchy and crown land of Silesia. It was founded in the 13th Century but it was in 1820 that Troppau was placed on the map of History by hosting the Congress of Troppau. The Congress was held at the bequest of Czar Alexander I of Russia with the monarchs of Austria and Prussia to discuss the liberal uprisings against Ferdinand I of the Two Sicilies and Ferdinand VII of Spain.
