The artist exhibited his work frequently in London in the years 1869-1879. He lived in Burgundy but also has sojourned in the South of France. The Musée des Beaux-Arts in Pau holds a painting titled 'Nuit d'hiver à Cannes' (inv.no. 899.9.1.).
