Another copy, with reduced format, is in the National Museum, Warsaw.
Dr Nicholas Penny, of the National Gallery, who has inspected the present picture, has suggested that it was copied from the original while it was in the possession of the Odescalchi in Rome. We are grateful to him for providing us with information regarding the picture's likely date and place of execution.
