Portman after Otto, Baron de Howen, 2 hand-coloured engraved plates by Portman after W. Paravicini di Capelli and J.Smies. Contemporary dark blue boards gilt, textured in imitation of straight-grained morocco, spine with light blue lettering-piece. marbled endpapers (joints splitting, lettering-piece slightly rubbed), 20th-century cloth slipcase.
RARE: FIRST EDITION IN DUTCH, LARGE PAPER COPY with variant titles to the two plates, but without the album of large format plates referred to in the preface.
