The present work is a reduced version of a painting currently in the collection of Musée des Beaux Art in Marseille. This painting is titled in Vittoria Botteri Cardoso's catalogue raisonne on Pasini as Ricordo dei dintorni di Tripoli (Syria) on page 267. This larger version was purchased directly from the artist by the Museum in 1866 for 1000 francs.
