He regards it as an autograph replica of the picture in the Pinacoteca Nationale, Bologna (see D. Benati, Alessandro Tiarini. L'opera pittorica completa e i disegni, Milan, 2001, II, no. 212, pp. 132-3) and dates the present work to the 1630s.
