Half title, lithographed frontispiece portrait of the author by R.J. Lane on india paper mounted, 2 engraved maps, 14 lithographed plates, including 5 hand-coloured, 7 leaves of wood-engraved vignettes. (Half title lightly spotted, margins of a few plates lightly spotted, upper margin of a few plates lightly waterstained.) Contemporary boards, uncut (rebacked, corners bumped, lightly soiled).
FIRST EDITION, PRESENTATION COPY, inscribed on endpaper: "To Colonel Graham ... with the author's respectful compliments." Below the inscription is written in pencil: "George Edward Graham, d. 1858. A relation of the author". Abbey Travel 520; Tooley 17.
