AN AKKADIAN DARK GREEN SERPENTINE CYLINDER SEAL Circa 2334-2154 B.C. With the water-god Enki/Ea seated on an angular stool, wearing a horned tiara and a long flounced robe, with one arm raised, the other hand holding a small vessel from which issues two streams of water, two fish framing his head, the god supported by two kneeling attendants, each a Lahmu (hairy hero), with much hair around their faces, wearing only triple-stranded belts, holding a standard with a loop at the top, the hero to the left with his head turned back, to their right stands a worshipper in a long fringed robe, with one hand raised, the other supporting a kid as an offering to the god, a lunar crescent and a star in the sky, a two line inscription in Sumerian cuneiform naming the owner, "Gissu, scribe" 40 x 26 mm
