This compotier was completed on June 3, 1907. It was worked by a silversmith, in room M3, for forty-eight hours. It was chased by number 32 for eight hours fifteen minutes. He is believed to be George Shakel, one of the English-born brothers who worked as chasers at Gorham. He worked for Gorham from 1880-1900. He went back to England for two years, then returned and resumed his duties at Gorham from 1902 until his demise in 1926. The net factory price was set at $180.00.
