The tondo with a young athlete bending forward, gripping the handles of a basket with both hands, wearing an ivy wreath, an inscription encircling him in added red reading HO ΠAIS KAΛOS; each side of the exterior with a pair of large eyes beneath arching brows, one side with a nose between, the other side with an athlete bending forward preparing to throw a discus which he holds in both hands, an inscription above identifing the potter, reading HISXYΛOS EΠOIESEN, a pair of elegant fan-palmettes flanking both handles
