Comprising:
6 Table Knives
6 Table Forks
6 Spoons
Each with a stylised B stamped on the handle
Each piece stamped with maker's mark for the firm of Sturm, double eagle for Royal Appointment, also stamped V. Mayer & Söhne, with Viennese poinçons (18)
Provenance
Frau and Dr. Brandweiner, eminent doctors of medicine in Vienna at the turn of the century.

Lot Essay

The present design pre-dates the creation of the Wiener Werkstätte, when Hoffmann was producing designs for a number of Viennese manufacturers. The Sturm archives retain a period photograph of the present model (No.135), inscribed in ink in a contemporary hand Hoffmann Entwurf.
