An Elegant Diamond Necklace
The front slightly articulated baguette-cut diamond line accented with a pav-set scroll to the circular and baguette-cut diamond back chain, circa 1950, with suede leather pouch by Van Cleef & Arpels, 38.5 cm long
Although unsigned, this necklace is a typical example of the work done by Van Cleef & Arpels in the 1950's, particularly the attention to the hinged areas and the overall quality of the workmanship.
According to the owner, this piece was bought at Van Cleef & Arpels in Monte Carlo in the 50's and, shortly after, the clasp was reworked and the necklace was shortened. It was most likely then that the signature was lost.
