THE MOVEMENT BY PIERRE-BASILE LEPAUTE (1750-1843), FIRST QUARTER 19TH CENTURY
Comprising a pair of vases and a striking mantel clock, the circular dial with arabic numerals signed LEPAUTE.PARIS, the twin-barrel movement with silk-suspended pendulum, anchor escapement and outside-countwheel strike on a bell, the reverse of the dial signed in ink Lepaute/àparis, scratched with inscription Pendule 13 Janvier 1858 and Kuempel 30/12/82, stamped with numeral 86, both the bezel and the movement stamped with a pentagonal star and numeral 86, the movement with blued steel screws and hands
