Provenance
Almost certainly acquired by the duchesse de Dino around 1825 for the château de Rochecotte. Thence by descent at Rochecotte to Count Stanislas de Castellane, heir of the duchesse de Dino. Acquired by Emilio Terry, his brother-in-law, with the château de Rochecotte in 1934. Anonymous sale, Sotheby's Monaco, 13 February 1983, lot 476.

Jacob Frères, Rue Meslée, was the stamp used by Georges II Jacob and Frangois-Honoré-Georges Jacob during their collaboration from 1797-1803. For a fuller history of the duchesse de Dino and the ch/cateau de Rochecotte see lots 83 and 88.
