    Lot Essay

    The Morris tube consists of five parts - the breech piece, the tube, the set-nut at the muzzle of the tube, the sliding bush and a fixed brass bush in front of the breech-piece. The tube is of steel with a smooth bore for 16½ inches from the breech and it is rifled for the remainder of its length with eight grooves. It fires a small centre-fire solid drawn cartridge with a powder charge of 3¼ grains and a bullet weight of 37 grains
