depicting the 'Attack and Capture of the Forts at the Entrance of the River Pei-Ho - China on 20th May 1858 by the allied British and French gun boats and boats of the Squadron in the Gulf of Pechilli' -- 13in. x 23in. (33cms x 59cms), printed by Day & Son, framed and glazed.
The image depicting a view of events of 20th May which led to the signing of the Treaty at Tientsing on 26th June, 1858, in which the Chinese acceded to the Western Allies demands.
