AN EXTREMELY RARE UNMOUNTED FANCY RED DIAMOND

The modified oval-cut diamond weighing approximately 0.25 cts.

With certificate 8634995 from the Gemological Institute of America stating that the colored diamond is fancy red, natural color

On April 28th 1987, Christie's sold a 0.95 carat diamond for $880,000 in New York. This astonishing result was because the diamond had a certificate of Fancy Purplish Red, perhaps the rarest of all fancy colored diamonds. The fact that almost 10 years later when every other world record price has been broken, this one still stands as the highest price per carat ever paid for any gemstone is verification of this statement. While this current stone is only 0.25 carat it is the first diamond to be offered since then with a certificate stating that it is red and is surely a true collector's item.
