Gouache heightened with gold and silver on paper, mounted with red borders, depicting Shirin seated on a river bank with one bare leg partly dipped in the shimmering water, three maidservants trying to hide her semi-naked body from Khusraw seen mounted on a prancing stead in the middle ground -- 8¾in. x 6in. (22.3 x 15.2cm.)
