An Imari square tokkuri bottle
Late 17th Century
Painted in underglaze blue, iron-red, black, green and gilt, the square tapering sides decorated alternately with a prancing karashishi and a crane flying among pine, below shaped floral cartouches on the chamfered shoulders surmounted by a narrow cylindrical neck, rim fritting to the glaze
