An Imperial German Dragoon Helmet of Officer's Pattern
A pickelhaube with squared peak, white metal mounts, fluted spike, domed chinscales and morocco leather internal headband, now fitted with a Baden Griffin plate in white metal (cockades of Other Ranks' pattern, silk upper element of lining missing)

The white metal fluted spike suggests that this helmet originally belonged to the 18th Dragoons, a Mecklenburg regiment. An almost- illegible inscription on the internal headband may confirm this.
