For 146 years Boucheron has been synonymous with some of the most imaginative and exquisite jewels. Founded by Frédéric Boucheron in 1858, the firm quickly acquired recognition and fame as a specialist in precious stones.
Famous clients included the Aga Khan, the legendary Maharaja of Patiala and the Shah of Iran, all of whom commissioned fabulous jewels using the finest gemstones.
The Kashmir sapphire ring weighing 22.16 carats is one of the more important rings to have been manufactured in the 1930s by Boucheron. Crafted in the typical geometric style of the time, it is highlighted by a sapphire with a rich velvety cornflower blue colour known to exist in the finest sapphires mined from the Kudi Valley, in the Padar region of Kashmir in the Himalayas.
