In order to grade a diamond "Fancy Vivid Yellow", one first has to determine the hue, then the tone and finally the saturation. This is done by colour comparison with other colour reference stones.
The hue is the perceived basic colour, the tone is how bright or dark the stone appears and the saturation describes the intensity of colour.
Only when this process has been completed and the diamond meets all the exacting standards, can one call a paticular stone Fancy vivid.
This grade is by far the rarest of all the Fancy colours and highly sought after by collectors in every continent.
