    Lot Essay

    cf. Florence Camard, Süe et Mare et La Compagnie Des Arts Français, 1993, pp. 131-132 illustrates this model as exhibited in the 1925 Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes in the grand salon en rotonde of the Musée d'Art Contemporain. The example illustrated had legs of gilt bronze, and was purchased from the Exposition by the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York. The desk model with carved palisander legs is illustrated in Camard's book on page 292.
