Stone sculptures originating from Peninsular Thailand before the Angkor period are extremely rare. Two other examples can be found in well-known publications by R. Goepper (ed.). The Sacred Image, Cologne 1979, pp. 88-89 and by J. Boisselier, La sculpture en Thailande, Fribourg, 2nd. edition 1987, pl. 66. All three heads show the same characteristics of Indian, Post-Gupta influences. They wear also a similar tiara carved with three floralised roundels in the centre and at both sides.
